Lodge at Mountaineer Square. Steps from the lifts.
Crested Butte's newest luxury condo building — adjacent to the Red Lady Express and Silver Queen lifts. Front desk and concierge, indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, air conditioning, and heated underground parking. Traverse-managed units from $95/night.
The closest you can sleep to the lifts.
The Lodge at Mountaineer Square sits at the absolute center of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area — between the transit center and the slopes, steps from the Red Lady Express and Silver Queen lifts. It's the closest lodging to the lifts at CBMR, and it's not particularly close.
Built in 2006–2007 by the Mueller family after they purchased Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Mountaineer Square was the first major new construction at the base and remains the newest of the three main slope-side buildings. The architecture is contemporary mountain — a step up from the older Grand Lodge and Plaza in both finishes and amenities.
Units are individually owned condominiums ranging from hotel-style king rooms to spacious two-bedroom penthouses with full kitchens, gas fireplaces, private balconies, and in-unit washer/dryers. Unlike most other buildings in Crested Butte, the Lodge at Mountaineer Square has air conditioning — a meaningful perk during summer stays.
The building has an active front desk and concierge — a rarity among Crested Butte's condo properties. Traverse Hospitality manages select units within the building, offering guests a locally managed experience with dedicated support.
